![]() ![]() The National Safe Haven Statistical Disclosure Form (Version 3) is required when requesting all outputs. Outputs cannot be released until your Research Co-ordinator has assessed them for statistical disclosure control in line with the data controller’s requirements specified for your study. You must follow ' A guide for users requesting outputs from the National Safe Haven (Version 1.3)' when creating your output. Outputs from your analyses are only released to you for the agreed purpose of your research. To remotely access the safe haven there is a 2 factor authentication process, the first part of which will be receipt of an access code via your mobile phone. This will be via a VPN (virtual private network). In some cases, data controllers may allow the researchers remote access to the data. You must book a timeslot to work on your data files with your research co-ordinator who will check availability and arrange access. ![]() We have secure access points at our offices in the BioQuarter at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh and at selected universities across Scotland. The location of the secure access points may depend on the data you wish to access. If you are working in a secure access point, you will be given a username and password for your linked data files. The secure access point does not connect to the internet nor can it be accessed remotely. A secure access point is a dedicated computer in a physically secure area where no external devices can be used or connected. Our IT infrastructure is provided by the EPCC at Edinburgh UniversityĪ data controller may require that their data is only accessed through a secure access point to ensure data security. It offers a high powered computing service, secure analytic environment, secure file transfer and a range of analytic software including SPSS, STATA, SAS and R. The National Safe Haven is a secure environment where data for your project is uploaded and accessed.
